David Opens Nashville Music Garden
October 5th, 2009

A big blue sky and an open field, it was a beautiful day to dedicate a garden, the Nashville Music Garden, home to over 50 types of roses honoring legends of Nashville music.  After David Andersen serenaded the gathering crowd with his hour-long set of Rose- themed songs, emcee Ralph Emery and the honorees began to enter the scene.

As the famous stars came down the red carpet, guitarist David Andersen stood on stage in the glorious Hall of Fame Park downtown, and played all the music that made them famous.  He played “Rose Garden” for Lynn Anderson, “Tennessee Waltz” for Patti Page and “Chantilly Lace” for the family of the Big Bopper.  The list went on and on with Little Jimmie Dickens, Alabama, Barbara Mandrell, John Carter Cash, Mrs. Roy Orbison, the DeFord Bailey family, the Jimi Hendrix family and many, many more on hand.

What a day it was for the Roses, and for  the Ambassador of Music City, David Andersen.  He now has played to dedicate many new Nashville landmarks including the $40 million Music City Central MTA terminal, the Music City Walk of Fame and the Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum.  He now adds one more to the list, the Nashville Music  Garden.

David was featured in much of the press coverage including a special CBS-TV report by Steve Hayslip of WTVF, Nashville.
